Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a small loaf pan.
In a bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, egg, whole wheat breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined to ensure the meatloaf stays tender.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and transfer it to the prepared pan.
Place the slice of bacon on top of the meatloaf, slightly overlapping the edges.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over low heat, warm the ketchup to create a light BBQ glaze.
Once the meatloaf is cooked, remove it from the oven and generously brush the warm ketchup over the top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to set the glaze.
Allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
