INGREDIENTS
300g Extra Firm Tofu
1/2 cup Canned Chickpeas (No Salt Added)
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Mixed Dried Herbs (Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano)
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Lemon Juice
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Once pressed, cut the tofu into thick, steak-like slices.
In a shallow dish, combine the tofu with lemon juice, garlic powder, mixed dried herbs, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Toss the chickpeas with a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of salt, pepper, and a dash of herbs. Spread them on a baking tray and roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until slightly crispy.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the remaining olive oil and place the marinated tofu slices in the skillet.
Cook the tofu for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until a crispy, golden crust forms.
Serve the crispy herbed tofu steak with a side of roasted chickpeas. Enjoy this versatile dish for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
