The natural sweetness of a large onion, combined with the nutty flavor of almond flour and the binding goodness of egg whites and whole eggs, creates a satisfying crunch that’s both nutritious and delicious.
INGREDIENTS
1 Large Onion (150g)
1/2 cup Almond Flour (56g)
3 Egg Whites (approx. 99g total)
2 Whole Eggs (approx. 100g total)
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Garlic Powder
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Peel the onion and slice it into 1/2-inch thick rings. Separate the rings carefully.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together 3 egg whites and 2 whole eggs until well combined.
In another bowl, combine the almond flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Dip each onion ring first into the egg mixture, making sure it's well coated, then dredge it in the almond flour mixture.
Arrange the coated onion rings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, turning halfway through, until the rings are golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
