A savory twist on traditional pizza using a crisp cauliflower crust, topped with lean Italian sausage, turkey pepperoni, melted mozzarella, and a burst of fresh basil and oregano. This dish marries the comforting flavors of pizza with a nutrient-rich twist, delivering a balanced, satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups Cauliflower Rice (200g)
1 Large Egg (50g)
1/2 cup Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese (56g)
3 oz Lean Italian Sausage (85g)
1 oz Turkey Pepperoni (28g)
1/4 cup Fresh Basil, chopped
1 tsp Dried Oregano
1 tsp Olive Oil
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 425°F.
In a food processor, pulse the cauliflower until it resembles rice. Transfer to a microwave-safe bowl, cover, and microwave for about 4-5 minutes until softened. Allow to cool slightly.
Mix the cauliflower rice with the beaten egg, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Press the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to form your crust.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until it starts to firm up and lightly brown.
Remove the crust from the oven. Evenly sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the crust.
Layer sliced lean Italian sausage and turkey pepperoni on top and then sprinkle with dried oregano and chopped fresh basil.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from oven, let cool for a minute, then slice and serve immediately.
