Savor a perfectly pan-seared sirloin steak imbued with a fragrant herb crust and the mellow sweetness of roasted garlic. This dish offers a delightful balance of juicy meat accented with fresh rosemary and thyme, making it a flavorful, satisfying meal suitable for any time of day.
INGREDIENTS
6 ounces Beef Sirloin Steak
4 Garlic Cloves
2 teaspoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 tablespoon chopped Fresh Rosemary
1/2 tablespoon chopped Fresh Thyme
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. Pat it dry with paper towels.
Preheat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.
Roast the garlic cloves by placing them (in their skins) in a small oven-safe dish, drizzling with a tiny bit of olive oil and covering with foil, then heating in a 400°F oven for about 15 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized.
While the garlic roasts, season the steak generously with salt, pepper, chopped rosemary, and thyme. Once the roasted garlic is cool enough to handle, peel and mince the garlic and sprinkle it evenly over the steak.
Add the olive oil to the hot skillet and immediately place the steak in the pan. Sear the steak for about 3 minutes on each side (adjust time for desired doneness).
Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
Serve the sliced steak with a drizzle of any pan juices and enjoy your flavorful herb-crusted, roasted garlic-infused meal.
