This dish marries the rich savory notes of steak with the earthy sweetness of roasted potatoes, accented by fresh herbs for a delightful dining experience.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Sirloin Steak
1 cup Baby Potatoes
1 tsp Unsalted Butter
1 Garlic Clove
1 tbsp Fresh Mixed Herbs
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 425°F for roasting the baby potatoes.
Halve the baby potatoes and toss them in a light drizzle of olive oil (if available) along with a pinch of salt and pepper. Spread them out on a baking sheet.
Roast the potatoes in the oven for about 20-25 minutes until tender and slightly crispy on the edges.
While the potatoes roast, pat the 5 oz sirloin steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat until it is very hot. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side until a rich crust forms.
In the last minute of cooking, add the unsalted butter, crushed garlic clove, and fresh mixed herbs to the pan. Tilt the skillet and spoon the melted herb-garlic butter over the steak to enhance its flavor.
Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Plate the steak with a side of roasted baby potatoes. Drizzle any remaining herb-garlic butter from the pan over the steak for extra flavor.
