Savor a succulent top sirloin steak seared to perfection with a rich herb-garlic butter, served alongside golden roasted baby potatoes. This dish offers a delightful balance of savory flavors and textures, making it an ideal dinner that satisfies both your taste buds and nutritional goals.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Top Sirloin Steak (~170g)
150g Baby Potatoes
1 tsp Unsalted Butter (5g)
1 tsp Olive Oil (5g)
1 clove Garlic
2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary
2 sprigs Fresh Thyme
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 425°F. Toss the baby potatoes with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread them on a baking sheet.
Roast the potatoes in the oven for about 20-25 minutes until they are golden and tender, stirring halfway through.
Meanwhile, pat the top sirloin steak dry, and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 teaspoon olive oil. Once hot, sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust to your desired doneness.
In the last minute of cooking, add the unsalted butter, garlic (smashed), rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. Baste the steak by spooning the melted herb-garlic butter over it.
Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
Serve the rested steak alongside the roasted baby potatoes, drizzling any remaining herb butter from the pan over the top.
