Enjoy a vibrant twist on classic quesadillas featuring tender grilled steak, sweet and crunchy bell peppers, melted cheese, and a whole wheat tortilla. This dish offers a satisfying blend of smoky, savory, and fresh flavors perfect for any meal of the day.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz Lean Sirloin Steak
1 Whole Wheat Tortilla
1 medium Red Bell Pepper
1/4 cup Reduced-Fat Cheddar Cheese, shredded
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Season the steak with salt and black pepper. Drizzle with a teaspoon of olive oil.
Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust time for preferred doneness. Let rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly.
While the steak rests, slice the red bell pepper into thin strips.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the whole wheat tortilla in the pan and sprinkle half of the reduced-fat cheddar cheese evenly over one half of the tortilla.
Layer the sliced steak and bell pepper strips over the cheese. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Fold the tortilla in half to cover the filling. Press gently and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the pan, slice into wedges, and serve warm.
