Savor the fusion of juicy, marinated sirloin steak with the zesty brightness of lime and the crunch of bell peppers, all melted together with a touch of low-fat cheddar cheese inside a warm whole wheat tortilla. A satisfying medley of spicy and tangy flavors, perfect for any meal of the day.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz Sirloin Steak
1 oz Low-Fat Cheddar Cheese
1 Whole Wheat Tortilla
1/2 medium Red Bell Pepper
1/2 Lime
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Garlic Powder
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Thinly slice the sirloin steak into bite-sized strips. In a bowl, marinate the steak with lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steak strips until browned and cooked to your desired doneness, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove the steak from the skillet. In the same skillet, lightly sauté the sliced red bell pepper until slightly softened, about 2 minutes.
Place the whole wheat tortilla on the skillet over low heat. Evenly sprinkle the low-fat cheddar cheese on one half of the tortilla.
Layer the cooked steak and sautéed bell peppers on top of the cheese, then fold the tortilla over to form a quesadilla.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortilla is toasted and the cheese is melted.
Cut into wedges and serve warm with an extra squeeze of lime if desired.
