INGREDIENTS
400g Firm Tofu
20g Whole Wheat Breadcrumbs
2 tbsp Fresh Basil, chopped
1 tbsp Fresh Thyme, chopped
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Press the tofu for at least 20 minutes to remove excess water. Then slice it into 4 thick steaks.
In a shallow bowl, mix together whole wheat breadcrumbs, chopped fresh basil, chopped thyme, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Lightly brush both sides of each tofu steak with olive oil.
Dredge each tofu steak in the herb mixture, pressing gently so the coating adheres well.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the tofu steaks and pan-sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, until a golden crust forms.
Adjust salt and pepper if desired, then serve warm.
