Lightly spiced with cinnamon and sweetened naturally, these churros offer a satisfying crunch on the outside and a soft, tender interior, making them perfect for any meal of the day.
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup Almond Flour (28g)
1 scoop Almond Protein Powder (30g)
1 large Egg
1/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 packet Stevia
1 pinch Salt
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond flour, almond protein powder, baking powder, ground cinnamon, stevia, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the egg and then mix in the unsweetened almond milk.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth, thick batter forms.
Transfer the batter to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe 3-4 inch long strips onto the prepared baking sheet in a churro-like shape.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes until the churros are set and lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm on their own or dipped in a favorite healthy sauce.
