Enjoy these savory pan-seared tofu steaks with a fragrant herb crust, lightly crisped on the outside and tender within. Paired with a side of sautéed spinach, this dish is a balanced and satisfying meal perfect for any time of day.
INGREDIENTS
14 ounces Firm Tofu (approx. 400g)
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
100g Spinach (raw)
1/2 teaspoon Dried Thyme
1/2 teaspoon Dried Rosemary
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 pinch Salt
1 pinch Black Pepper
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
PREPARATION
Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut into 1/2-inch thick steaks.
In a small bowl, combine dried thyme, dried rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Sprinkle the herb mixture evenly over both sides of the tofu steaks.
Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Carefully place the tofu steaks in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, until a crisp golden crust forms.
Remove the tofu and set aside. In the same pan, lightly wilt the spinach for about 1-2 minutes.
Drizzle lemon juice over the tofu before serving and pair with the sautéed spinach.
