INGREDIENTS
5 ounces Chicken Breast (approx. 142g)
1/3 cup Whole Wheat Flour (approx. 40g)
1/4 cup Water (approx. 60g)
2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro, chopped
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Dice the chicken breast into small cubes and season lightly with salt and pepper.
In a skillet over medium heat, add the teaspoon of olive oil and sauté the chicken until it is just cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and water. Stir until a soft dough forms. If needed, add a few drops more water to bring the dough together.
On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough briefly until smooth. Divide the dough into small portions and roll each into a thin round wrapper.
Mix the cooked chicken with the chopped fresh parsley and cilantro. Spoon a modest amount of the chicken-herb filling onto the center of each wrapper.
Fold the wrapper over the filling and pinch the edges to seal, forming dumplings.
Prepare a steamer or a pot with a steamer basket and bring water to a boil. Place the dumplings in the basket in a single layer and steam for 8-10 minutes until the dough is fully cooked.
Remove the dumplings from the steamer. Optionally, serve with a light dipping sauce of your choice.
