Savor the flavors of garlic and fresh herbs in these perfectly pan-seared tofu steaks, served alongside tender broccoli and protein-packed lentils for a satisfying meal any time of day.
INGREDIENTS
300g Firm Tofu
1 tsp Olive Oil
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tsp Fresh Thyme, chopped
1 tsp Fresh Rosemary, chopped
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
0.5 cup Cooked Lentils
1 cup Broccoli, chopped
PREPARATION
Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then slice it into steaks of about 1/2-inch thickness.
Pat the tofu dry and season on both sides with salt, pepper, chopped thyme, and rosemary.
Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Place the tofu steaks in the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms.
While the tofu is searing, lightly steam or sauté the broccoli until tender-crisp.
Warm the cooked lentils if desired, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
Plate the garlic-herb tofu steaks with a side of broccoli and lentils, and serve immediately.
