Seared Beef Tenderloin with Steamed Broccoli and Sweet Potato Mash
Savor a succulent seared beef tenderloin paired with a velvety sweet potato mash and perfectly steamed broccoli, drizzled with a hint of olive oil. This dish is a celebration of clean, balanced flavors where each component complements the lean, savory beef and naturally sweet vegetables.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz Beef Tenderloin (227g)
150g Sweet Potato
150g Broccoli
0.5 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Season the beef tenderloin generously with salt and black pepper on all sides.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the beef tenderloin for about 3-4 minutes on each side until a rich, golden crust forms. Adjust cooking time based on your preferred degree of doneness. Remove the beef and let it rest.
While the beef rests, peel and cut the sweet potato into cubes. In a small pot, steam or boil the sweet potato cubes until tender, about 10-12 minutes.
When the sweet potato is soft, drain and mash it until smooth. Stir in half a tablespoon of olive oil, and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Steam the broccoli florets until just tender, about 5-6 minutes, to preserve their vibrant color and nutrients.
Slice the beef tenderloin, plate it alongside a serving of sweet potato mash and steamed broccoli. Optionally, drizzle with any desired remaining olive oil from the mash for extra flavor.
