INGREDIENTS
1 cup cooked Chickpeas (164g)
1 large Egg
2 Egg Whites
2 tbsp Chickpea Flour
1 tsp Nutritional Yeast
1/4 cup diced Red Onion
2 cloves Garlic (for mix)
1/4 cup chopped Fresh Parsley
1 tsp Ground Cumin
1 tsp Ground Coriander
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1 tbsp Tahini
2 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
1 clove Garlic (for sauce)
2 tbsp Water
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a food processor, add the chickpeas, egg, egg whites, chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, diced red onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, baking powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pulse until the mixture is well combined but still slightly chunky.
Scoop the mixture into 4-5 patties and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray or brush with a small amount of olive oil if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the patties are firm and lightly crispy on the edges.
While the falafel bakes, prepare the lemon-garlic tahini sauce. In a small bowl, combine tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, water, and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth, adding a little extra water if needed to achieve a drizzling consistency.
Remove the falafel from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Drizzle the lemon-garlic tahini sauce over the falafel or serve it on the side for dipping.
Enjoy your Crispy Baked Falafel with Lemon-Garlic Tahini Sauce as a satisfying meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
