Enjoy a hearty plate featuring savory herb-seasoned lean ground beef paired with creamy roasted garlic mashed potatoes. The aromatic herbs and toasted garlic elevate this comforting dish to a delightful meal experience.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Lean Ground Beef (90% lean)
1 medium Russet Potato
1 Garlic Clove
1 tsp Olive Oil
2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary
2 sprigs Fresh Thyme
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F for roasting the garlic.
Place the unpeeled garlic clove on a small piece of foil, drizzle with a few drops of olive oil, wrap it, and roast in the oven for about 20 minutes until soft.
Meanwhile, peel and dice the russet potato into evenly sized cubes. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Season with salt, black pepper, chopped rosemary, and thyme. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spatula.
Drain the potatoes and mash them with the roasted garlic (squeeze out the softened garlic from its skin) and the remaining olive oil. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
Plate a portion of mashed potatoes and top with the herb-seasoned ground beef. Garnish with additional fresh herbs if desired before serving.
