Enjoy a satisfying and balanced sandwich featuring tender lean sirloin steak, sweet bell peppers, and a melty layer of provolone cheese tucked between whole wheat bread. This delightful combination of savory flavors and textures makes for an energizing meal fit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
INGREDIENTS
3 oz Lean Sirloin Steak
1/2 medium Bell Pepper
2 slices Whole Wheat Bread
1 oz Provolone Cheese
PREPARATION
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Season the lean sirloin steak with salt, pepper, and your favorite steak seasoning.
Grill the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Allow it to rest for a couple of minutes before slicing thinly.
While the steak is resting, slice the bell pepper into strips and lightly sauté in a nonstick pan for 2-3 minutes to soften slightly, adding a pinch of salt to enhance flavor.
Toast the whole wheat bread slices either in a toaster or on a skillet until lightly crispy.
Assemble the sandwich by layering the sliced steak and sautéed bell pepper on one slice of toasted bread.
Place the provolone cheese on top of the steak and bell pepper, then cover with the second slice of toasted bread.
Optional: To melt the cheese further, you can press the assembled sandwich onto a heated skillet or panini press for 1-2 minutes until the cheese softens and begins to melt.
Slice in half and serve immediately.
