A satisfying dish featuring tender, crispy pork belly with a savory Asian glaze, paired with a colorful medley of stir-fried sesame vegetables. This dish offers a delightful balance of flavors — salty, sweet, and a hint of tang — with a light crunch from fresh bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot, all accented by toasted sesame seeds.
INGREDIENTS
4 oz Trimmed Pork Belly (113g)
1/2 cup Shelled Edamame (78g)
1/2 cup Broccoli (45g)
1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper (46g)
1/4 cup Carrot (32g)
1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds (3g)
1 tbsp Low-Sodium Soy Sauce (15g)
1 tsp Rice Vinegar (5g)
1 clove Minced Garlic (3g)
1 tsp Fresh Ginger (2g)
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Pat the pork belly dry and score the skin lightly.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and fresh ginger to form the Asian glaze.
Brush the pork belly with the glaze and place it on a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the skin turns crispy and the meat is cooked through.
While the pork belly is baking, steam the broccoli, and lightly sauté the red bell pepper and carrot in a non-stick pan for 2-3 minutes.
Stir in the shelled edamame with the vegetables and drizzle any remaining glaze over the mix. Sauté for another 1-2 minutes to warm through.
Plate a serving of the sesame vegetables and slice the crispy pork belly thinly on top. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds to finish.
Serve immediately and enjoy the blend of crispy, savory pork with vibrant, fresh vegetables.
