Herb-Crusted Pan Seared Steak with Roasted Garlic
Savor the juicy, herb-crusted pan seared steak enhanced by the aromatic roasted garlic, perfectly complementing the robust flavor of the tender sirloin. This dish offers an enticing blend of fresh herbs and a silky garlic finish for a satisfying meal any time of the day.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Top Sirloin Steak (170g)
0.5 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tbsp Fresh Rosemary, chopped
1 tbsp Fresh Thyme, chopped
1 Garlic Clove
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F for roasting the garlic.
Place the garlic clove (in its skin) on a piece of foil, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and wrap it. Roast in the oven for about 15 minutes until soft and aromatic.
While the garlic roasts, pat the steak dry with a paper towel. Generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
Mix the chopped rosemary and thyme together. Once the garlic is roasted and cool enough to handle, squeeze out the softened garlic and mix it into the herb blend.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with the remaining olive oil. When hot, place the steak in the pan.
Sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust time as per preferred doneness). In the last minute of cooking, spoon the herb and roasted garlic mixture onto the steak to form a flavorful crust.
Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
