Spicy Lime Steak Quesadilla with Bell Peppers
Enjoy a vibrant and hearty quesadilla loaded with tender slices of lean steak, crisp bell peppers, melted low-fat cheese, and a zesty lime kick. This dish brings together bold spices and fresh ingredients in a warm, whole wheat tortilla perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Lean Sirloin Steak
1 Whole Wheat Tortilla
1 oz Low-Fat Shredded Cheese
1 cup Sliced Bell Peppers
1 Lime (juiced)
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Ground Cumin
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Season the steak with chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Drizzle half of the lime juice over the steak and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
While the steak marinates, thinly slice the bell peppers.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated steak for about 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly.
Wipe the skillet clean and reduce the heat to medium. Place the whole wheat tortilla in the skillet.
Sprinkle the shredded low-fat cheese evenly over the tortilla. Add the sliced steak and bell peppers on one half of the tortilla.
Drizzle the remaining lime juice over the filling, then fold the tortilla over to cover the filling.
Cook the quesadilla for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortilla is golden and crispy and the cheese has melted.
Slice into wedges and serve immediately.
