INGREDIENTS
1 block (300g) Extra Firm Tofu
1/2 cup Chickpeas, drained
1 tsp Olive Oil
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tsp Fresh Rosemary, chopped
1 tsp Fresh Thyme, chopped
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Drain and press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Once pressed, slice the tofu block into 1/2-inch thick steaks.
In a shallow bowl, mix the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Brush this herb mixture over both sides of the tofu steaks.
Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Place the tofu steaks in the skillet. Sear the tofu for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
While the tofu cooks, gently warm the chickpeas in a small saucepan or in the microwave, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
Plate the tofu steaks, top with the warmed chickpeas, and drizzle any remaining herb dressing over the top.
Serve immediately and enjoy your plant-powered, garlic-herb infused meal.
