Herb-Crusted Pan-Seared Tofu Steaks
Enjoy a flavorful twist on a plant-based classic with these herb-crusted tofu steaks. The firm tofu is pressed, sliced into hearty steaks, then coated in a savory blend of almond flour, hemp seeds, and freshly chopped herbs before being pan-seared to crispy perfection. A light drizzle of olive oil enhances the natural nuttiness and brings out a warm, aromatic finish, making it a satisfying meal for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
INGREDIENTS
300g Extra-Firm Tofu
2 tbsp Almond Flour
3 tbsp Hemp Seeds
1 tsp Fresh Thyme
1 tsp Fresh Rosemary
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Press the tofu for at least 20 minutes to remove excess moisture, then slice it into even steaks.
In a shallow dish, mix together almond flour, hemp seeds, chopped fresh thyme, chopped fresh rosemary, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Lightly drizzle tofu steaks with olive oil, then coat each steak evenly in the herb and seed mixture.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the tofu steaks.
Pan-sear each side for 4-5 minutes until a golden crust forms and the tofu is heated through.
Transfer the tofu steaks to a plate and serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra fresh herbs.
