INGREDIENTS
5 oz Top Sirloin Steak
1 cup Sliced White Button Mushrooms
1 Garlic Clove
2 tsp Olive Oil
2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary
2 sprigs Fresh Thyme
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Take the steak out of the fridge about 20 minutes before cooking to bring it closer to room temperature. Pat dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
Preheat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add 1 tsp of olive oil.
Place the steak in the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your desired doneness.
While the steak is resting after searing, slice the mushrooms and mince the garlic.
In a separate small pan, heat the remaining 1 tsp olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the sliced mushrooms along with the rosemary and thyme sprigs, cooking until the mushrooms are tender and slightly golden, about 3-4 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Slice the steak against the grain, serve with a generous portion of garlic mushrooms, and garnish with extra herbs if desired.
