Seared Salmon with Steamed Asparagus and Cauliflower Mash
Enjoy a beautifully seared salmon paired with vibrant steamed asparagus and a velvety cauliflower mash. This dinner combines the rich flavor of salmon with the fresh, crisp taste of asparagus and a smooth, comforting mash, all lightly drizzled with a hint of olive oil and butter to bring out a subtle, luxurious finish.
INGREDIENTS
7 oz Salmon Fillet
1 cup Asparagus
1 cup Cauliflower
1 tsp Olive Oil (for mash)
1 tsp Butter (for asparagus drizzle)
PREPARATION
Season the salmon fillet with salt and pepper, and let it come to room temperature for about 10 minutes.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillet skin-side down, and sear for about 4 minutes until the skin is crisp. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the center reaches your desired doneness.
While the salmon cooks, steam the asparagus in a steamer basket over boiling water for about 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
For the cauliflower mash, steam or boil the cauliflower until very tender (about 8-10 minutes). Transfer to a bowl and mash with 1 teaspoon of olive oil, adding a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
Once the asparagus is steamed, drizzle with 1 teaspoon of melted butter. Plate the salmon alongside the asparagus and cauliflower mash, and serve immediately.
