Savor a beautifully roasted Cornish hen enhanced with a medley of fresh herbs and a luscious garlic butter sauce. This dish boasts a crisp, golden skin paired with tender meat, making it the perfect centerpiece for a nourishing meal that effortlessly balances flavor and nutrition.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Cornish Hen (meat portion) - 170g
1 tsp Olive Oil - 4.5g
1 tsp Butter - 5g
1 clove Garlic - 3g
2 tbsp Fresh Herbs (rosemary, thyme) - 4g
1 tbsp Lemon Juice - 15g
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Pat the Cornish hen dry with paper towels. Rub the hen with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
Place the hen in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the skin is golden and crisp and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
While the hen roasts, prepare the garlic butter sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Stir in lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Remove from heat once well combined.
Once the hen is roasted, remove from the oven and drizzle the warm garlic butter sauce over the top.
Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
