While the salmon is searing, trim the woody ends of the asparagus, toss with a pinch of salt and pepper, and place on a baking sheet. Roast in the oven for about 10 minutes until tender.
Meanwhile, peel and dice the sweet potato, then steam or boil until tender. Drain and mash lightly with a fork, seasoning with a pinch of salt to taste.
Plate the seared salmon alongside a generous serving of sweet potato mash and roasted asparagus. Serve immediately and enjoy your balanced dinner.
