Enjoy a well-balanced plate featuring a tender seared lean beef steak paired with vibrant roasted broccoli and creamy garlic mashed cauliflower. This dish offers a delightful texture contrast and a harmonious blend of savory flavors, making it a satisfying dinner experience.
INGREDIENTS
5 ounces Lean Beef Sirloin
1 cup Broccoli
1 cup Cauliflower
1 teaspoon Olive Oil (for beef sear)
1 teaspoon Olive Oil (for mashed cauliflower)
2 cloves Garlic
Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Pat the beef dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Once hot, sear the beef for about 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. Remove beef from the skillet and let rest.
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Toss the broccoli with a drizzle of olive oil (you can use the second teaspoon if desired), salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 12-15 minutes until slightly charred and tender.
While broccoli roasts, steam the cauliflower florets until soft, about 8-10 minutes, and add garlic cloves during the last few minutes of steaming for a mellow garlic infusion.
Transfer the steamed cauliflower and garlic to a bowl. Add the remaining teaspoon of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and pepper, then mash until smooth and creamy.
Slice the rested beef against the grain, plate with a serving of roasted broccoli and a generous scoop of garlic mashed cauliflower, and serve immediately.
