INGREDIENTS
4 oz Lean Ground Turkey (93% lean)
2 oz Whole Wheat Spaghetti (dry)
1/2 cup Fresh Tomato Sauce
1 tsp Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic (minced)
2 tbsp Fresh Basil (chopped)
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
In a bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, minced garlic, a pinch of salt and pepper, and half of the chopped basil. Mix until just combined and form into small meatballs (around 4 meatballs).
Place the meatballs on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until cooked through.
While the meatballs are baking, cook the whole wheat spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the fresh tomato sauce. Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in the remaining basil. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the tomato sauce, and serve topped with the turkey meatballs.
Garnish with extra basil if desired and enjoy your balanced, nutritious meal.
