Seared Salmon Fillet with Steamed Asparagus and Cauliflower Mash
Enjoy a savory seared salmon fillet accompanied by tender steamed asparagus and a creamy cauliflower mash. This dish offers a delicate balance of rich, buttery flavor from the salmon and a light, refreshing crunch from the asparagus, perfectly complemented by the smooth, garlicky cauliflower mash.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Salmon Fillet
1 cup Asparagus
1 cup Cauliflower
1/4 cup Skim Milk
1 tsp Butter
1 clove Garlic
Salt and Pepper, to taste
PREPARATION
Season the salmon fillet with salt and pepper.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and sear the salmon for about 3-4 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms and the inside is just opaque.
While the salmon cooks, steam the asparagus in a steamer or covered pan with a little water for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
For the cauliflower mash, steam or boil the cauliflower florets until very tender, about 8-10 minutes.
In a small saucepan, gently heat the skim milk with a clove of minced garlic until warm. Transfer the cauliflower to a bowl, add the warm milk with garlic, 1 tsp of butter, and season with salt and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
Plate the seared salmon with a serving of steamed asparagus and a generous scoop of cauliflower mash. Serve warm.
