INGREDIENTS
4 oz Lean Ground Turkey
2 oz Whole Wheat Spaghetti (dry)
1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic
1/4 cup diced Onion
1 tbsp Fresh Basil (chopped)
1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (chopped)
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
In a bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, minced garlic, diced onion, chopped basil, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
Form the mixture into small meatballs, roughly the size of a walnut.
Place the meatballs on a lightly greased baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until fully cooked and lightly browned.
While the meatballs are baking, cook the whole wheat spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the olive oil and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the warm marinara sauce, plating the pasta and topping with the turkey meatballs.
Garnish with extra fresh basil or parsley if desired, and serve warm.
