Seared Salmon with Steamed Asparagus and Cauliflower Mash
Enjoy a vibrant plate featuring a perfectly seared salmon fillet accompanied by tender steamed asparagus and a creamy cauliflower mash. The dish balances rich, juicy fish with a light, garlicky mash and crisp, fresh asparagus - a wholesome and satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
6.5 oz Salmon Fillet (184g)
5 Asparagus Spears (90g)
1 cup Cauliflower Florets (107g)
1 tsp Olive Oil (4.5g)
1 clove Garlic
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Pat the salmon dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, sear the salmon skin-side down for about 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the fish is just opaque and flakes easily.
While the salmon cooks, steam the asparagus spears in a steamer basket over boiling water for around 4-5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
Break the cauliflower into florets and steam for 8-10 minutes until tender.
In a food processor or with a hand masher, combine the steamed cauliflower, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning if needed.
Plate the seared salmon alongside the steamed asparagus and a generous serving of cauliflower mash. Serve immediately.
