INGREDIENTS
4 ounces Lean Ground Turkey
1 cup Whole Wheat Ziti (cooked)
1 cup Spinach (raw)
1/2 cup Tomato Sauce
1/4 cup Part-Skim Mozzarella
2 cloves Garlic
1/4 medium Onion
1/2 tsp Dried Basil
1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Cook the whole wheat ziti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a skillet over medium heat, add the lean ground turkey. Break it apart and cook until evenly browned.
Add the minced garlic and finely chopped onion to the turkey, cooking for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and softened.
Stir in the tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
Fold in the fresh spinach and cooked pasta, mixing until the spinach wilts and all ingredients are well combined.
Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish. Sprinkle the part-skim mozzarella evenly on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, and serve warm.
