INGREDIENTS
5 oz Lean Ground Turkey (140g)
1 cup Cooked Whole Wheat Spaghetti (174g)
1 serving Fresh Tomato Sauce (150g)
1 tsp Olive Oil (5g)
1 clove Garlic (3g)
1/4 cup Diced Onion (40g)
2 tbsp Chopped Fresh Basil (4g)
1 large Egg White (33g)
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
In a mixing bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, egg white, minced garlic, diced onion, and chopped basil. Mix until just combined to form the meatball mixture.
Form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
Lightly brush a baking sheet with olive oil and place the meatballs on it. Bake in the oven for about 15-18 minutes or until fully cooked.
While the meatballs bake, cook the whole wheat spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
For the sauce, lightly warm the fresh tomato sauce in a saucepan. If desired, season with additional basil, salt, and pepper.
Plate the cooked spaghetti, top with the warm tomato sauce, and place the baked turkey meatballs on top.
Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired and serve warm.
