INGREDIENTS
5 oz Lean Sirloin Steak
2 slices Whole Grain Bread
1 slice Provolone Cheese
1/2 medium Red Bell Pepper
1/4 medium Yellow Onion
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Season the lean sirloin steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the steak. Sear for about 3-4 minutes per side or until cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove and let it rest.
In the same skillet, add olive oil. Sauté the sliced red bell pepper and yellow onion until they become tender and slightly caramelized, about 4-5 minutes.
While the vegetables are cooking, lightly toast the whole grain bread.
Thinly slice the rested steak and then layer the slices on the bottom piece of toasted bread.
Top with the sautéed peppers and onions, then add the slice of provolone cheese on top. Optionally, place the assembled sandwich back in the skillet or under a broiler for a minute to melt the cheese.
Finish with the top slice of bread, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately.
