This well-balanced dish brings together hearty flavors and satisfying textures, making it a perfect option for a nourishing dinner.
INGREDIENTS
4 ounces Lean Ground Beef (90% lean)
1 slice Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
1 Small Whole Wheat Bun
8 spears Fresh Asparagus (approx 100g)
1 teaspoon Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
Garlic Powder to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 425°F.
Trim the asparagus and toss them in olive oil, salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of garlic powder. Arrange on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for 10-12 minutes until tender and slightly crispy.
While the asparagus roasts, gently form the lean ground beef into a 4-ounce patty. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patty for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.
During the last minute of cooking, top the patty with the slice of mozzarella cheese and cover with a lid to allow the cheese to melt.
Lightly toast the whole wheat bun either in the toaster or in a pan.
Assemble the burger by placing the cheesy beef patty on the bun and serve with the crispy roasted asparagus on the side.
