INGREDIENTS
4 oz Lean Ground Turkey (113g)
1 large Egg White (33g)
2 tbsp Whole Wheat Breadcrumbs (15g)
1 tsp Dried Oregano
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 oz Low-Fat Mozzarella Cheese Slice (28g)
1 Whole Wheat Bun (80g)
2 Tomato Slices (30g)
1 Lettuce Leaf (15g)
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the lean ground turkey, egg white, whole wheat breadcrumbs, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are just combined.
Form the mixture into a patty about the size of your whole wheat bun.
Place the turkey patty on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 18-20 minutes, or until the patty is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
A few minutes before the turkey patty finishes, place the low-fat mozzarella cheese slice on top of the patty and return it to the oven to allow the cheese to melt and become slightly crispy on the edges.
Once ready, remove the patty from the oven. Toast the whole wheat bun lightly if desired.
Assemble the burger by layering the turkey patty with melted mozzarella onto the bun, then top with tomato slices and a fresh lettuce leaf.
Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful, crispy mozzarella turkey burger.
