Seared Salmon with Steamed Asparagus and Cauliflower Mash
Enjoy a perfectly seared salmon paired with vibrant steamed asparagus and a velvety cauliflower mash. This dish offers a harmonious blend of flavors and textures, balancing the rich, buttery salmon with lightly seasoned vegetables and a creamy mash, all brought together with a hint of citrus and olive oil.
INGREDIENTS
7 ounces Salmon Fillet
6 spears Asparagus
1.5 cups Cauliflower (approx 150g)
1 teaspoon Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
Pinch of Salt
Pinch of Black Pepper
PREPARATION
Pat the salmon fillet dry and season both sides with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 teaspoon olive oil.
Place the salmon fillet skin-side down (if applicable) and sear for about 3-4 minutes until a golden crust forms. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is just cooked through.
While the salmon cooks, trim the tough ends of the asparagus and steam them for about 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
Meanwhile, steam the cauliflower florets until soft, about 8-10 minutes. Once tender, transfer the cauliflower to a bowl and mash lightly with a fork. Season with a pinch of salt and a dash of lemon juice.
Plate the seared salmon alongside the steamed asparagus and a serving of cauliflower mash. Drizzle a little extra lemon juice over the salmon if desired, and serve immediately.
