Enjoy a beautifully balanced dinner featuring a perfectly seared salmon fillet accompanied by tender steamed asparagus and a serving of nutty brown rice. This dish is both satisfying and nourishing, offering an excellent mix of protein, healthy fats, and aromatic flavors with a slight hint of citrus from a squeeze of lemon.
INGREDIENTS
7 oz Salmon Fillet (198g)
2/3 cup Cooked Brown Rice (approx. 130g)
8 Asparagus Spears (approx. 100g)
1 tsp Olive Oil (5g)
1 tbsp Lemon Juice (15g)
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Pat the salmon fillet dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once the oil shimmers, place the salmon skin-side down (if applicable) and sear for about 3-4 minutes until a golden crust forms.
Carefully flip the salmon and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is opaque in the center. Squeeze lemon juice over the fillet during the last minute of cooking.
While the salmon cooks, bring a small pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Add the asparagus and steam for about 4-5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
Reheat or prepare the cooked brown rice according to package instructions if not already done.
Plate the seared salmon with a side of steamed asparagus and a serving of brown rice. Serve immediately and enjoy!
