Enjoy a hearty dinner featuring a perfectly seared sirloin steak paired with vibrant garlic green beans and creamy mashed cauliflower. The steak is seasoned simply with salt and pepper to let its natural flavor shine, while the green beans are lightly sautéed with garlic and olive oil for a burst of flavor, and the mashed cauliflower is enriched with butter and a splash of low‐fat milk for extra creaminess.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Sirloin Steak
1.5 cups Green Beans
1 tbsp Olive Oil
2 cups Cauliflower
2 tbsp Butter
1/2 cup Low-Fat Milk
2 cloves Garlic
Salt and Pepper
PREPARATION
Allow the sirloin steak to come to room temperature and pat dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Preheat a heavy skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat until it is very hot.
Place the steak in the pan and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the time based on your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest.
While the steak rests, trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them. Mince the garlic.
In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the green beans and sauté for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender yet crisp. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
For the mashed cauliflower, steam or boil cauliflower florets until very tender, about 8-10 minutes.
Drain the cauliflower and transfer it to a blender or food processor. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1/2 cup of low-fat milk. Blend until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Plate the seared steak alongside a serving of garlic green beans and a generous helping of mashed cauliflower. Serve immediately and enjoy!
