INGREDIENTS
3 oz Lean Sirloin Steak (85g)
1 Whole Grain Bun (60g)
1 slice Provolone Cheese (28g)
1/2 cup Sliced Bell Pepper (75g)
1/4 cup Sliced Onion (40g)
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the lean sirloin steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
Add half the olive oil to the skillet and sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Remove and let it rest.
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil. Sauté the sliced bell pepper and onion until they soften and get a slight char, about 3-5 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain.
Toast the whole grain bun lightly if desired.
Assemble the sandwich by layering the sliced steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and topping with the provolone cheese.
If preferred, place the assembled sandwich under a broiler for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful, lean steak sandwich.
