Savor a robust sandwich featuring lean sirloin steak seared to perfection, layered with sweet, sautéed bell peppers and topped with a dreamy melt of provolone cheese. Nestled between a lightly toasted whole wheat roll, each bite offers a satisfying blend of savory, crisp, and melty textures.
INGREDIENTS
3 oz Lean Sirloin Steak (85g)
1/2 medium Red Bell Pepper (75g)
1 oz Provolone Cheese (28g)
1 Whole Wheat Roll (50g)
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
Season the lean sirloin steak with salt and pepper on both sides, then sear it in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side until cooked to your desired level. Remove and let it rest before slicing thinly.
In the same skillet, add the sliced red bell pepper and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft and slightly charred. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Slice the whole wheat roll in half and, if desired, toast it lightly in the skillet.
Assemble the sandwich by layering the sliced steak, sautéed bell peppers, and placing the provolone cheese on top. If desired, melt the cheese by briefly placing the assembled sandwich back in the warm skillet or under a broiler for 1-2 minutes.
Serve immediately and enjoy your balanced, flavorful sandwich.
