0.5 medium Red Onion
1 tsp Olive Oil
0.5 cup Water
1 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas. Using a fork, roughly mash them to break up some of the texture while leaving some whole.
Crumble the firm tofu into a bowl, breaking it into small pieces. If desired, lightly press extra moisture out.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the chickpea flour, water, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and nutritional yeast until you have a smooth, slightly thick batter.
Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the diced red onion and sauté until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
