Seared Salmon with Steamed Asparagus and Cauliflower Mash
Enjoy a beautifully balanced dinner featuring seared salmon with a crisp outside and tender, juicy inside, paired with lightly steamed asparagus that retains its vibrant color and a creamy cauliflower mash enriched with a touch of butter and olive oil for a luxurious finish.
INGREDIENTS
6 oz Salmon Fillet
1 cup Asparagus
1 cup Cauliflower
1 tbsp Butter
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Season the salmon fillet with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 teaspoon of olive oil.
Once the oil is shimmering, place the salmon skin-side down and sear for about 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through but still moist.
While the salmon is cooking, steam the asparagus in a steamer basket over boiling water for about 4-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
For the cauliflower mash, steam or boil the cauliflower florets until very soft, about 8-10 minutes.
Transfer the cooked cauliflower to a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Mash until smooth, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Plate the seared salmon with a serving of steamed asparagus and a generous scoop of cauliflower mash. Serve immediately.
