Savor a gourmet twist on a classic burger by enjoying a lean beef patty delicately stuffed with melty mozzarella cheese. This burger is pan-seared to perfection, delivering a crispy exterior and juicy interior, then served on crisp lettuce wraps with fresh tomato and red onion for a refreshing crunch.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Lean Ground Beef (93% Lean)
1 oz Fresh Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
2 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
3 Tomato Slices
3 Red Onion Slices
Pinch of Salt
Pinch of Black Pepper
Pinch of Garlic Powder
PREPARATION
Preheat a skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
In a bowl, season the lean ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Divide the beef into two equal portions. Take one portion and form a thin patty in your hand.
Place the mozzarella cheese in the center of the patty, then top with the remaining beef portion. Carefully seal the edges around the cheese to fully encase it.
Gently flatten the stuffed patty to an even thickness, being careful not to break the seal.
Place the patty in the heated skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the beef is cooked through and a crispy exterior forms, and the mozzarella has slightly melted.
While the burger is cooking, prepare your lettuce wraps by washing and patting dry the romaine leaves.
Once done, transfer the burger onto a plate and slice into halves if desired. Serve on the lettuce wraps, and top with fresh tomato and red onion slices for extra crunch and flavor.
