Healthy Steak Quesadillas with Black Beans
Savor the delicious fusion of tender, lean sirloin steak and hearty black beans nestled in a warm whole wheat tortilla with a sprinkle of reduced-fat cheddar. This quesadilla is lightly seasoned and grilled to perfection for a satisfying meal that's both flavorful and balanced.
INGREDIENTS
3 oz Lean Sirloin Steak
1 Whole Wheat Tortilla (50g)
1/3 cup Black Beans (drained, ~60g)
1/4 cup Reduced-Fat Cheddar Cheese (28g)
1 tsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle on medium heat.
Season the lean sirloin steak with salt and pepper. Using olive oil in the skillet, sear the steak for about 2-3 minutes per side until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak and let it rest before slicing thinly.
Lightly warm the whole wheat tortilla in the same skillet for about 30 seconds on each side.
Sprinkle a layer of shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese on one half of the tortilla, then add the sliced steak and sprinkle the black beans evenly on top. Fold the tortilla over to form a quesadilla.
Place the quesadilla back in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the cheese melts and the tortilla turns lightly crispy.
Remove from heat, slice into wedges, and serve immediately.
