INGREDIENTS
100g Lean Ground Turkey
1 cup cooked Whole Wheat Spaghetti (174g)
1 medium Fresh Tomato (120g)
1/4 cup Fresh Basil, loosely packed
1 Garlic Clove
1/2 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a bowl, combine the lean ground turkey with a pinch of salt and pepper. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
Place the meatballs on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until cooked through.
Meanwhile, prepare the tomato sauce by dicing the fresh tomato and mincing the garlic. In a medium skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the diced tomato to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened. Stir in the chopped basil and season with salt and pepper to taste to form the fresh herb tomato sauce.
Boil the whole wheat spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain well.
Toss the cooked spaghetti with the fresh tomato sauce and top with the turkey meatballs.
Serve immediately and enjoy your nutritious, balanced meal.
