Thinly Sliced Skillet Steak with Caramelized Onions, Bell Peppers, and Creamy Provolone Sauce
Savor tender, thinly sliced sirloin steak paired with sweet caramelized onions and vibrant bell peppers, all finished with a luscious provolone cream sauce. A balanced, flavorful dish perfect for any time of day.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Lean Sirloin Steak (142g)
1/2 medium Onion, sliced (55g)
1/2 cup chopped Red Bell Pepper (75g)
1 slice Provolone Cheese (28g)
2 tbsp Light Cream (30g)
PREPARATION
Pat the steak dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side until cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak and set aside; let it rest.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté over medium heat until they begin to soften and caramelize, about 5 minutes.
Add the chopped red bell peppers to the skillet with the onions and continue to cook until both are tender and slightly charred at the edges.
Return the thinly sliced steak to the skillet. Drizzle in the light cream and place the provolone cheese over the top. Allow the cheese to melt into a creamy sauce while gently stirring to combine all the flavors.
Once the sauce is slightly thickened and coats the steak and vegetables, remove from heat and serve immediately.
