Seared Sirloin Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Green Beans
A hearty dinner featuring a perfectly seared sirloin steak served alongside creamy garlic mashed potatoes and crisp steamed green beans. The tender steak is seared to lock in flavors using a touch of olive oil, while garlic-infused mashed potatoes provide a comforting, buttery accompaniment. Steamed green beans add a fresh, vibrant crunch to complete this balanced, satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS
5 oz Sirloin Steak
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 medium Potato
1/4 cup Low-Fat Milk
1 tsp Butter
2 cloves Garlic
1 cup Green Beans
Salt & Pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Season the sirloin steak on both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer as desired. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
While the steak is resting, peel and cut the potato into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
In a small saucepan, lightly sauté the minced garlic with a tiny drop of olive oil until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash with low-fat milk, the sautéed garlic, and butter until smooth. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
Meanwhile, steam the green beans until they are bright green and just tender, about 5-7 minutes.
Plate the steak, add a generous serving of garlic mashed potatoes, and arrange the steamed green beans on the side. Serve immediately.
