Seared Salmon with Steamed Asparagus and Cauliflower Mash
Enjoy a beautifully balanced dinner featuring perfectly seared salmon, complemented by tender steamed asparagus and a creamy, low-carb cauliflower mash. A light drizzle of olive oil elevates the dish, making for an ideal meal that’s as nutritious as it is delicious.
INGREDIENTS
5.5 oz Salmon Fillet (~156 g)
100 g Asparagus
2 cups Cauliflower (chopped)
0.5 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder (to taste)
PREPARATION
Pat the salmon fillet dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and a pinch of garlic powder.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
Place the salmon skin-side down (if applicable) and sear for about 3-4 minutes before flipping. Continue to cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the salmon is just cooked through.
While the salmon cooks, steam the asparagus in a steamer basket over boiling water for about 4-5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
Meanwhile, boil or steam the cauliflower until softened (about 8-10 minutes). Drain well.
Mash the cauliflower using a fork or immersion blender, and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Optionally, you can mix in a tiny drizzle of olive oil for added creaminess.
Plate the seared salmon with a side of steamed asparagus and a generous serving of cauliflower mash, and serve immediately.
